Spanish 2S and Spanish AP Language teacher

This is my twenty third year of teaching at Chaffey High School. I teach two AP Spanish Language classes, and three Spanish 2 for Spanish Speakers classes.  I previously taught one year in Riverside County.  Before that, I lived and taught in Peru, my native country, where I taught Social Science and English as a Foreign Language in the public school system, as well as Spanish and Methods and Research in the college level.  I studied at the Catholic University of Peru, where I got my Bachelor and Masters degrees, and finished my Doctorate studies. In 1987 and 1988, I did post graduate studies at the University of Surrey in London using a scholarship awarded by the British Council.

The AP Spanish Language program has been my passion for many years. I started teaching one class in 1995, but each year we have grown until we even had four classes  two years ago. Last school year 63 of my students took the AP Spanish Language Exam in May, and all of them passsed it.    I've enjoyed being an AP Reader since 2008, a wonderful experience that allows me to know first hand what The College Board expects from my students, and to exchange ideas with teachers from all over the world.

Students in my classes are encouraged to frequently go to the following sites:

www.nicenet.com, to post journals.

www.quia.com, to review assignments, homework, projects, journals, etc.

www.conjuguemos.com, to practice verb conjugations.

www.rae.es, for up to date dictionaries.

www.bbcmundo.com, to check current events, and practice for the AP Exam.
