    Principal's Message

    Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Chaffey High School, home of the Tigers, for the 2018-19 school year. I hope you had an amazing summer!

We begin the 2018-19 school year with some changes. Change is always a little scary, but it can trigger amazing growth. Let’s take advantage of these changes, and together, turn them into opportunities to take Chaffey High School to the next level!

First, I would like to introduce myself as your new principal. Although I am not new to Chaffey--I have served here as an assistant principal for the past eight years—I am new in this role. I want you to know how honored I am to be the principal of Chaffey High School. Above all else, I am dedicated to the success and safety of our students.

Another change that I believe will provide our students with new opportunities is our Academy program. This year, students will have a 7 period day. We are not lengthening the school day; we will still begin school at 8:05 and be dismissed at 2:55. The difference is that we have re-arranged our instructional minutes to provide support and enrichment during the school day. All students will have an “academy class” during 3rd period and will be placed in one of the following:

    • Tiger Cub Academy (all 9th graders)
    • Tiger Study and Read (10-12)
    • Tiger Tutorial (10-12)
    • Tiger Activities (10-12)

We have also been working to streamline our behavior and learning expectations by incorporating Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) strategies on our campus. With that end in mind, we have developed three “golden rules” that will be the foundation of how we interact with each other. Tigers are:

Respectful—treat people the way you would like to be treated
    Responsible—follow school rules
Ready to Learn—be on time, in the appropriate place on campus, and with the required materials

We believe that these “golden rules” will help you be successful in school, career, and life in general.

I look forward to seeing all of you on August 8th as we begin the new school year. As always, please feel free to contact me with your questions or concerns, and enjoy the rest of your summer.
